Professor Sidi Osho

Professor Sidi Osho was the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Afe Babalola University till 2014. During her tenure as Vice-Chancellor, she initiated and established several infrastructural and educational developments for the University.

Professor Sidi Osho obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from Michigan State University, USA in 1980; and a Master’s degree in Food Processing and Technology from Ohio State University, in 1982. In 1993, she obtained a PhD in Food Processing and Technology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Prior to her appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Sidi Osho worked with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan and Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, at the Faculty of Agricultural Management and Rural Development.

With over 25 years’ experience in the academia, research, food processing and development, Professor Sidi Osho, has on her profile, several academic publications and membership of over 17 professional bodies and societies; nationally and internationally. She is an advocate for women in higher education, gender issues, policies and women empowerment.

She has several publications on food processing, food security, agriculture, higher education and nutrition.

Prof. Sidi Osho is currently on sabbatical with the National Open University of Nigeria.

Prof. Sidi Osho is the President, Sidi Osho Foundation (SOF), a non-profit, non-faith based and non-governmental organization, that is committed to human development, alleviation and reduction of poverty in Nigeria and Africa, through initiatives that improve the living standards of women, youths, families, communities and especially the less privileged.
